Today, similarly to Ryan Dahl I’ve started the quest to make a hundred push ups. During the initial test I’ve made 24. That’s a good start, me thinks.
Update: Unfortunately I only made it as far as week 3. The progress curve was just too steep. I’ve tried several times to make it past week 3 but failed. And that, let me tell you, was not really motivating, so I just kind of let it go.
Better to do fewer press ups with good technique than to rush through to attain a certain arbitrary number. Do the press ups in a slow controlled manner, inhaling on the way down and exhaling on the way up. Keep your body in alignment (joints in a straight line, don’t let your hips left or sag), pull your navel through to your spine, lift your pelvic floor and keep your head in alignment with your spine.
Done in this manner, you will probably do less than 24, but you will become stronger and less likely to suffer injury.
i started doing push ups too and i went and got those perfect pushups you see on TV at wal mart for like half the price and man they are worth it if your still doing the push ups
